About Sara
When Sara suffered cervical disk problems in 2003 and was faced with the foreboding diagnosis of degenerative disk disease, she sought alternative means for managing pain and encouraging wellness. Her quest led her to the Alexander Technique, a tool used to promote healthy movement solutions and overall well being. So compelling and freeing was the experience of the Alexander Technique that Sara decided to complete the three-year training course at the Alexander Technique Training Centre (ATTiC) http://www.alexandertechniquecentre.com/index.html in Charlottesville, Virginia, and has been certified to teach the Alexander Technique by the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT). AmSAT is the largest professional association of certified Alexander Technique teachers in the United States and establishes and maintains the nation’s highest standards for teacher training, certification and membership. Sara also serves on the AmSAT New Membership Committee.
Today, she is eager to share with others the joy of living life more fully by applying the skills and thinking of the Alexander Technique.
A mother of three and native to Richmond, Virginia, Sara also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary and a Master’s of Science in Mass Communications from Boston University. Previously, she has worked as a writer, performer and drama instructor and is the founder of the HeartStrings, a volunteer choir that performs for senior citizens around metropolitan Richmond.
